VIP Meet and Greet Details:
The Meet and Greet with Dessa will begin at 7PM in the Turret Gallery on the third floor of The Castle. All tickets will check-in at the same location on the third floor, with VIP tickets receiving a special wristband that will allow them into the meet and greet. We will begin checking in VIP tickets at 6:30PM. General admission tickets will start at 7PM. Please walk to the top of the stairs and past any lines if you are a VIP ticket holder.

Dessa

Dessa is an internationally touring rapper, singer, and writer who has built a career by defying genre conventions and audience expectations. As a musician, she’s recorded critically acclaimed studio albums (Dessa “sounds like no one else” according to the LA Times, and was called “a national treasure” by NPR’s All Songs Considered); appeared on the Billboard Top 200 charts both as a solo artist as a member of the Doomtree hip-hop collective; co-composed for a 100-voice choir; collaborated with full orchestras; and contributed to The Hamilton Mixtape on the invitation of Lin-Manuel Miranda. Her most recent release, Sound the Bells; Recorded Live at Orchestra Hall is a collaborative live album recorded with the GRAMMY-winning Minnesota Orchestra. MONAKR

Chicago-based MONAKR formed in 2014 as a collaboration between former members of indie pop band Hey Champ (Saam Hagshenas and Jonathan Marks) and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Matthew Santos. Largely inspired by the Peter Gabriel flavored electro-pop-rock of the ’80s, MONAKR’s music couples with dark R&B and the moody trip-hop of the late ’90s.
