Good Morning Bedlam: Sophia’s Farewell Show w/ Mae Simpson!
December 30, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
After seven years, Sophia is stepping down from Good Morning Bedlam. We can’t think of a better way to end the year than to throwing a hometown party to celebrate our last seven years of playing together, and to welcome in a new era of Good Morning Bedlam with Kat Seeger on the violin!
If you have been a fan of Good Morning Bedlam for the last few years, you will not want to miss this one! We will be playing old Good Morning Bedlam tunes to celebrate Sophia’s time with the band, and also trying out some brand new Good Morning Bedlam songs to show you what is to come! You may see some familiar faces on stage with us on different instruments this night as well!
We could not be more excited about this show!
We also are so happy to have Mae Simpson opening up the show! This is going to be a wild night of music!
Good Morning Bedlam: Good Morning Bedlam has become a staying force in the folk genre with a 200 plus show tour in 2019 before the COVID-19 shutdown, claiming the first-place title at the John Hartford Memorial Festival Band Competition, and being finalists at the NWSS Band Competition. GMB has played at festivals alongside artists such as Shakey Graves, Sam Bush, Jason Isabell, The Infamous Stringdusters, Trampled By Turtles and others. GMB has been featured on Bluegrass Today, Relix Magazine, Glide Magazine, and Paste Magazine.
Mae Simpson:The Mae Simpson Band blurs the lines between a wide range of influences. From the depth and energy of funk and rock, down the the melodic edge of R&B and folk. Led by Mae Simpson who’s ‘…voice is larger than life — but not as large as her uncontainable energy that radiates from the stage.” Helen Teague – Minnesota Public Radio. Known for their Intense and exciting live shows, the band has an immediate impact that favors the human connection between the musicians and the audience. Opening up for acts like Dermot Kennedy, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and more.
