Right Brain: Jazz Jam at One Discovery Square

What do imagination, holistic thinking, the arts, rhythm, feelings, visualization, and daydreaming all have in common?
They’re all considered to be functions of the creative right side of our brain.

Right Brain is designed to engage UMR students, faculty, staff, and the Rochester community in a wide variety of free interactive Arts events. Co-sponsored by University of Minnesota Rochester, One Discovery Square, and Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, Right Brain will feature fun and exciting new arts experiences designed to stimulate your creative “right brain”.

On Wednesday, September 25, get ready to dust off your instruments or tune up your vocal chords as Saint Mary’s jazz director Eric Heukeshoven and Jazz Combo 1 host the first Right Brain Jazz Jam from 4pm-6 pm. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to perform some of their favorite jazz standards. Interested players can choose from a wide selection of tunes from the Hal Leonard Real Book series, bring their own sheet music, or just call a tune!

Location: Collaboration Hall inside One Discovery Square

This event is FREE to attend and open to everyone. You are not required to stay the entire duration of the event, so arrive and depart as you are able! Parking is available on the street or in nearby ramps.
