Rochester City Jazz Fest Fundraiser House Concert

On Thursday, May 9, from 6:30-9pm, Sue Alker and Joan Rabe will host a party at Sue’s home, with a social time with wine, beer & snacks, followed by a concert-style set at about 7pm featuring the voice of LaSonya Natividad and The D’Sievers.

Support the 4th annual Rochester City Jazz Fest by attending a one-of-kind social gathering and house concert. All proceeds will benefit the Jazz Fest. LaSonya has been astounding audiences with her powerful voice and poised stage presence for years. Whether she’s fronting the funk band Knufunk, honoring the Queen of soul as part of a successful tribute to Aretha Franklin (which sold out the Rochester Civic Theatre), or fronting her own jazz group, LaSonya sings with a passion that can’t be ignored. She sings what she means and means what she sings. She’ll be featured along with The D’Sievers Trio consisting of Eric Straubmuller (piano), Blake Bonde (bass), and John Sievers (trombone). Veterans of the area jazz scene, these musicians have years of experience performing original music and jazz standards together. Be prepared for a memorable night of intimate music that supports the local arts ecosystem by providing funds to help sustain the Rochester City Jazz Fest.
