“i’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately.

i couldn’t give you a specific moment that led me to all the contemplation that i’ve been experiencing recently. all i really know is that this past year kicked me in my nuts on multiple occasions. lots of new experiences and relationships and people and music plus one big thick breakup that led me to where i am today. if i’m being totally honest i don’t really know where i’m headed after this; nothing is really concrete in this world and that’s a little scary to me. all that i know for sure is that writing and performing and doing what i’ve been doing is something that i will continue to do for my whole life.

through all of my self reflection i’ve realized that this isn’t really a collection of songs about my junior year – at least not as much so as the other two records. it’s more a collection of open letters and thoughts about people and the relationships you have with them as well as the relationships you build with yourself. these are songs about people. these are songs about things that all of us have experienced at certain points in our lives and how much they suck but also how great they can be at times.

these are songs about you and me.

I’ve been particularly fortunate to be heavily involved in Café Steam, which has created within itself a thriving, supportive artists’ community, home to many collaborations and conversations that have pushed me to grow in my personal work and creativity. I’m deeply inspired also by travel, the new places and experiences that accompany it, the art of simplicity, and nature.”
